A 1928 document featuring an auction of houses at Victoria Terrace, Crawthorne Road (top) and Salisbury Terrace, Monument Street (bottom).
The auction took place at the Angel Hotel on Narrow Street.
A promotional card for WH Speechley & Sons of Monument Street – possibly captured alongside Central Park.
The Speechley business started in 1912 with horse-drawn carriages before switching to motor vehicles after the Great War in 1919. The chap in the top hat on the far right may well be William Herbert Speechley, the proprietor of the business.
