A nice early and very rare stone ginger beer bottle from McKee of Oundle.
Sheffield born Charles Frederick McKee operated from the Anchor Brewery on Mill Lane and played for Oundle Cricket Club, even featuring in 1901 alongside guest player WG Grace !
He is noted in the town as a brewer on the 1891, 1901 and 1911 census records.
The Anchor Brewery buildings are still standing today (see lower images) and have been converted into a very desirable residential property.
