Photographer Harold Burleigh “Charlie” Thompson pictured with the Norman Cross Memorial in July 1925, eleven years after it was erected on its original site, sixty five years before the original bronze eagle was stolen and seventy three years before the memorial was moved along the A15 to its current site to allow the A1 to be widened.
