The build up to and the opening of the new Sainsburys Superstore at the Bretton Centre in early 2002.
The new store opened the day after the old Sainsburys store, just yards away across the car park, closed and, at 48,000 square feet, was 50% larger in floor area. Work started on the new building in August 2001 and was completed just before opening in March 2002.
