A classic view along Narrow (Bridge) Street from near Market Place and showing just what a bottleneck the main southern access route to the city centre was and why it was eventually widened to create today’s Bridge Street.
The building line to the right still stands today, while those on the left would run down the centre of today’s Bridge Street and were leveled in 1927.
