Peterborough Images was launched in 2008 with the aim of providing an indexed archive of images from and around the city of Peterborough.
It has a supporting Facebook Group which has nearly 27,000 members as at August 2021.
My goal was, is and always will be to celebrate the city’s heritage and to provide enjoyment for those who were there as well as for those who simply want to know what was there before they built Queensgate !
I’m very proud to support several schools in the city as well as the city’s official archivists and I’ve also enjoyed recent appearances and references on both BBC and ITV. Most of all I’ve loved the enjoyment evidently brought to Peterborians young and old, both local and all over the world on our vibrant Facebook Group.
I will do all I can to support those who want to share my enthusiasm and positive intentions with Peterborough Images but I am generally unable to provide printed images because of insufficient image resolution for printing.
I make every effort to keep site activities within the bounds of ever changing and ever more complex UK copyright laws but if you feel you have a grievance then please contact me before you contact your lawyer ….. I’m a friendly and reasonable guy !
Do enjoy the site. Use the menu to home in on the thousands of images but if you have a particular interest in a subject or area or road or person then my recommendation is that you use the search box.
Last but not least, if you have images, publications, film, video, etc that may be of interest then please get in touch as I’d love to borrow them and add them to the archive.
