Alwalton c.1919

Looking down Church Street from the junction with the old Oundle Road, this scene is pretty much unchanged across the years.

Alwalton Church still dominates the background with Alwalton Post Office (right) still proving its worth to the local community today.

The old chapel to the left of the Post Office has been substantially modified to form a private residence known today as Chapel House.

The very far right of the image suggests a sign to a surgery but I’ve yet to find any detail to elaborate on that one.

Today, the Wheatsheaf public house is just left of the image.
