Deltic #9 on the East Coast Main Line

Deltic D9009 “Alycidon” on the northbound slow line, climbing from Helpston on 25th July 2012 on a special excursion.

One of several preserved examples of these former East Coast Main Line workhorses, D9009 finished her British railways duties in January 1982 after which she was purchased by the Deltic Preservation Society who returned her to main line capabilities for excursion work.
