Golden Lion Hotel c.1904

The Golden Lion Hotel on the right, standing guard over the appropriately named Narrow Street with the old Wagon & Horses Inn on the opposite side of the street. The road heading left in the very foreground of the image was Albert Place which today lies under Bourges Boulevard.

The hotel was demolished in the late 1920s to make way for the widening of Narrow Street to form today’s Bridge Street.
