Toton, Nottingham based Class 44 “Peak” #D4 “Great Gable” heading south through Peterborough in 1972. One of only 10 Class 44 engines, all built at Derby Works in 1959 and withdrawn from mainline service in 1980. 44004 lived on after being withdrawn and now operates on the Midland Railway at Butterley, Derbyshire.
