A4 Pacific 60022, formerly 4468, “Mallard” cruising into Platform 2 at Peterborough North Station in 1956 – some 18 years after setting a world speed record for a steam locomotive of 125.88mph on a stretch of line between Little Bytham and Essendine.
Mallard is currently on display at the National Railway Museum at York.
