Young birdmen of Peterborough in training at their local school in readiness for their attempts to fly the Nene near Town Bridge in May 1971.
The boys were from Lincoln Road School under the tutorship of art teacher Leigh Odlin and the photo was taken on the field between Lincoln Road and Walpole Street.
