A fantastic shot of Peterborough North Station with the old canopy over the main platforms ….. just imagine the smoke under that one !
Outside of the canopy on the far left is “Platform 6” which was constructed in 1866 on a shared cost basis with the Midland & Great Northern Railway who had previously operated their own small station at Crescent, just south of the main station. Crescent Station was closed once “Platform 6” was up and running.
