The Peterborough and Nottingham Junction Railway Company was one of many schemes that popped up in the very early pioneering days of railway construction, looking to cash in on the railway building mania. Some of these were genuine schemes but which just ran out of money whereas others were simply fraudulent schemes where the share money just vanished !
