The upper advertising board on the side of the tram is interesting. It reads ‘E Wilcox Electric & Oxy-Acetylene Welding Specialists’. Evan Wilcox had premises in Cromwell Road and Acland Street at this time. Evan Wilcox died in 1932, but the Wilcox family welding business remained in Peterborough until 1970 when they moved to Oundle.
