The image is marked as “Route 304 Werrington” which is presumably the destination for this bus which appears to be parked up on Broadway ….. but I may be wrong !
Alan Watkins adds ….. “The 304 was a long running town service between Padholme Road and Werrington Green. I would say this is early 30′s. The bus may be a Tilling Stevens but I’m not certain of that. Please note the metal indicator boards – nicknamed Tin Bibles – which were flip over and reversible for different route directions. Very heavy to lug about and clip in place. Health and Safety would not approve today”.
