Westgate Surgery (2010)

Another victim of the forthcoming North Westgate development will be the old Westgate Surgery (on the right of these buildings).

The surgery was one of the oldest in the city, dating back to around 1890. With its demise inevitable, the practice moved to a new base inside the Boots store in Queensgate. The new store was opened by the surgery’s longest standing patient, Leonard Voller aged 102, who first used the surgery in 1934.
